Commercial Gas Water Heaters From 300,000 to 2,070,000 BTUs
Copper-Fin II commercial gas water heaters give you all the advantages of a highly efficient, lime scale free, straight-finned copper tube heat exchanger combined with the benefits of a sealed combustion system. The result: a smaller footprint, smaller vent diameters, five venting options--and most importantly, high efficiency. In fact, these units deliver a remarkable 85% thermal efficiency.
Inside the Copper-Fin II, specially designed stainless steel burners, a sealed combustion chamber and blower system supplies the combustion air flow to the burners. Multiple redundant gas valves, pressure switches and adjustable temperature and limit controls are used. This integrated system design ensures a precise control of the gas/air ratio for a cleaner, more efficient combustion process. The efficient, low profile flame is safer for the environment with a low 9.9 ppm NOx rating.
High efficiency means a more compact design. Copper-Fin II will fit almost anywhere. Thanks to the sealed combustion chamber with low heat loss and the special "Loch-Heat" ceramic tile insulation, the jacket stays cooler. The unit requires only 3" clearance from combustible walls. Combined with the 5 venting options, the Copper-Fin II allows true installation flexibility for every application.
Venting Options
Thanks to their small footprint, low clearance requirements and stackable design, Copper-Fin II water heaters can be installed almost anywhere.
And for additional installation flexibility, you can choose from five different venting options, including Lochinvar's own DirectAire system.
Conventional: Vents into conventional flue or vent breaching using Type B double wall vent.
Side Wall: Vents directly through the outside wall using the optional powered side wall cap. Ideal when a vent stack is not practical.
Outdoor: Requires an add-on outdoor vent cap. Use when indoor space is a problem or if outdoor location gives better access.
DirectAire Vertical: Draws fresh combustion air from outside, and vents combustion by-products through conventional vertical flue.
DirectAire Horizontal: Again, draws fresh combustion air from outside, then vents by-products through side wall using optional powered vent cap.
Proportional Firing
Lochinvar has taken efficiency and accuracy a step further. Models, with inputs from 990,000 to 2,070,000 BTUs, offer even greater flexibility and energy savings--thanks to a unique "proportional-firing" technique.
Using multiple gas valves and multiple combustion air blowers, these high capacity models actually provide a measured response to the demand for heat--as much or as little as needed--while always keeping the gas/air ratio in perfect proportion.
At the heart of the system is a built-in programmable sequencer and temperature controller. It controls the firing stage with digital accuracy, so the Copper-Fin II can maintain a virtually constant setting. In fact, it's accurate to within one degree Fahrenheit--a remarkable achievement for a unit of this size!
The sequencing control panel also incorporates advanced diagnostics for ease of operation and greater reliability. Because it's designed to be proportional, almost every component is duplicated. This built-in redundancy makes system shutdown virtually impossible.
