Model 3100 Hydro-Flow™ vortex flowmeters represent a new generation of flowmeters specifically designed for water flow applications. Retractable Insertion Flowmeters (RIF) are used for those applications which require the flowmeter to be installed or removed from service under flowing conditions (pipeline cannot be depressurized). Hospitals, HVAC systems, and critical production processes frequently require RIF type flowmeters. |
The vortex sensor is precisely positioned at a specific location in the flowline to measure local velocity. "Smart" microprocessor based electronics continuously correct for changes in the velocity profile which naturally occur as the flow is increased or decreased, thereby providing an accurate, linear output signal proportional to the average flow rate.
RIF models can be supplied with a threadolet or a saddle type connection to the flowline. RIF's come complete with all necessary hardware for regular or Hot-Tap installations.
